Creating an exhibition (2016)
Why do we continue to organize exhibitions today, in an era where virtual images and the internet are at the heart of our relationships with the rest of the world - individuals, communities, and photographic practices? This workshop will help participants create original exhibitions from their photographic work. Each participant will be invited to work on their project, starting with understanding what constitutes the strength, intentions, and essence of their work. From these elements, decisions will be made that will shape an exhibition.
Topics covered include the choice of works, print size, choice of medium, the exhibition space, the accompanying elements (sound, video), budgets, technical conditions, collaboration with other professionals, and presentation techniques to the public.
This workshop weekend will allow participants to reflect in depth on their photographic series, through discussions with the other trainees but also with
the artist individually to bring out the best of their potential in the context of personal and collective exhibitions.
