a boy with an extinguisher cover
photography: Silk screen students text:Miki
I selected photography works from silk screening department students. Then i thought about how i could make this work as a series. One morning the story of "a boy with an extinguisher cover" came to me.
It is a story of a boy who is afraid to be seen by others. Therefore he walks around with extinguisher cover on his head. But he wants to see the world and when no one is around takes off the cover. One day he meets a girl that was " looking" into a camera in between a gap of a wooden bridge. He discovers that a camera can replace the extinguisher cover, he can hide his face with it, at the same time, it gives him a possibility to see, photograph and to share a moment with other people.
It is a simple story about some aspects of photography, i attempted to communicate during my residency.

"Liberty" is a story that was inspired by what i heard during the residency.
As a person who was looking for a place to belong, sometimes these issues of being an outsider has a strong impact on me.I feel these images are made in these lines of feeling.
The photography were made by graphic and communication students.
I know that these issues are much more complex for teenager in educational system.
To me, state of liberty is when we know we can belong everywhere that we choose.
Daily, we are seeking for a person to see us for who we are.
Perhaps just a split of second is enough for us to recognize one another and this may give us a freedom
for life.
